World of Pollution
In this Modern day with everything advancing daily from what it feels like. Everyone waiting for the next phone to come out, or the new faster car. People looking for the next best thing but what everyone should have been looking for is that things everyone does and did that is impacting that planet and just now it feels like people are trying to make a difference when it’s a little to late. If things keep going like they are there will not be the next new phone or car. With the earth changing and getting worse. Everything one does has impact on the earth. From the things you buy how they are made, package, and how people throw away the trash. Even to the car you drive and how much co2 that car puts out into the air. All that added up is polluting the planets and changing it from what it was before.
When anyone buys anything from a drink at Starbucks to a massive 60inch plus tv the things that go into making that product and making that packaging it will go into to be place in stores has an impact. The carbon used in the making of these products creates co2 made from the outcome of that manufacturing process gets dumped into the air. When co2 is made in large scale it has a very negative effect on the way the earth handles sunlight and heat. The gasses create a insulating effect that prevent that IR “infrared” that heat part of sunlight from leaving the earths atmosphere. When the light shines a lot of the light gets reflected and bounces back up and out the atmosphere but now with so much co2 gasses its creating a greenhouse effect by keeping in a lot more of the suns rays and heat. This is starting increase the earth surface temperatures every couple year’s. “Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface. Normally, this radiation would escape into space—but these pollutants, which can last for years to centuries in the atmosphere, trap the heat and cause the planet to get hotter. That’s what’s known as the greenhouse effect.” Global warming has two major problems the first one the increasing temperatures causing drought all over the world and here in the west end of the U.S. The second thing Global Warming is doing is melting the polar ice and by doing that it is lowering the amount of fresh water worldwide. The third thing all the melting ice is producing more water and in doing so increasing ocean water levels worldwide causing coastal cities and ocean levels places around the world to flood. Now cause all this happening worldwide 195 countries agreed to cut down the use of carbon-based fuels like fossil fuels and start going green.
When it comes to pollution and greens house gasses from cars that is being dramatically reduced. Before people were looking at buying big massive 8 seaters plus luxury SUVs or fast cars with V8 motors that drink gallons of gasoline every city block, that had a mile per gallon rating of less than 15 mile per gallon in the city. Cars that were barely passing emission standards. Cars that polluted just by having the engine on at a red light. This was all back then when no one cared about the MPG of cars because gas so way cheaper back then. But now when gas is going up in price and looking like its never going to stop, people are thinking twice about what car to buy next. Some of the newer cars are some amazing technology that gets that most miles per gallon out of every drop of gas. Some new cars have this feature that when at a red light, waiting at a Starbucks drive thru or ever worse in L.A traffic the engine will shut it self off when the brake pedal is applied for a long period of time. And once you let go the engine automatically starts up again. So you will not use up any gas just sitting there. Some future cars will have special made engines that will use less gas but still have the same power output as bigger engines of today. But no matter what MPG a car gets its still putting out small amount of co2 into the air because its still burning gas. But thanks to people thinking out of the box and better technology we have E.V cars Electric Vehicles. Just like Tesla motor company. Cars that
When people buy things most of the time the products come in some type of a box or packaging. Even when a lot of the thing are now made to be recyclable and to be reused in another way to prevent it from going to a landfill and adding to the pail it only works if people actually put it in recycle bin and not in a regular trash can or left on the street. Being recyclable is a very good thing in helping to keep the planet clean but if not disposed of correctly it makes its useless and basically makes its trash, because even being recyclable its not biodegradable. Man made plastics will never brake down out in nature, it will be there for decades and pail up even spared with winds and people not caring and just throwing things away where trash dose not belong. One of the biggest problems was single use plastic bags. These bags are one of the most common things that everyone uses when they go to any store. The bags are never recycled and just tossed in the trash, when the wind start happening those bags are blown everywhere. Most are caught on trees and bushes, and the ones that make it can be blown into the ocean where the wild life mistake it for food like sea turtles thinking it’s a jelly fish what they commonly eat. A huge amount of manmade plastic trash ends up in the ocean its so much that, that when the trash gets stuck in the oceans moving currents and swirl pool the floating plastic trash started building up so much that it made a trash island. “The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a collection of marine debris in the North Pacific Ocean. Marine debris is litter that ends up in oceans, seas, and other large bodies of water. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, also known as the Pacific trash vortex, spans waters from the West Coast of North America to Japan. The patch is actually comprised of the Western Garbage Patch, located near Japan, and the Eastern Garbage Patch, located between the U.S. states of Hawaii and California.”. To help and minimize the plastic trash the people of California passed in 2016 a law to ban the use of plastic single use bags. And to keep that idea of using less plastic California is working on banning plastic straws. All that trash is just polluting the eco system and killing wild life. The government is just now trying to make a change for the better but it’s too late to reverse most of the damage.
